We are going shopping this weekend, but I don't know where we are going. We ____ go to the department store, or the night market. (A) can (B) could (C) may (D) might

According to the author, Alisha Horvath, the answers are B, C and D. Why is choice A incorrect?

I don't think it is incorrect; it is just less commonly used.

Can is a bit too confident for this setting, as you're never really sure what you'll do in the future. Probability is better served by may/might.
