Can I say "con against"?

For example,

A bad weather forecast is a con against taking a trip.

Does sound right, or am I running into a double negative?

It is a double negative and the structure is unacceptable except in casual conversation.

I'd avoid using con. It has slang connotations (convict, cheater), it just confuses in this context.
