Can someone check this paragraph for me. I know it has a lot of mistake in this paragraph. Hope someone can check this for me. Well thanks in advance. Many theorists throughout history have argued which is more effective, punishment or rehabilitation. In this society has many of the criminal justice system is to punish and rehabilitate individuals who commit crime. The first thing we should do for the person who commits crime should put in jail. That is the retributive theory seeks to punish offenders because they deserve to be punished. Put in jail or prison is the good idea so we can prevent her/him from committing another crime for a specified period. In this assignment I need to ask three people about their thoughts of this issue. I asked three people of their opinion about this. They all give me the different answers of this.
The first statement of the person I got is the reason why criminals are the way they are is because their childhood is surrounded by violence, influenced by the cruelty of the world, thus thinking at an early age that they need violence to survive violence.
The punishment varies most of what criminal activity the said criminal has done. Usually she would agree to a 15 year prison sentence for vile acts such as fraud, sexual harassment, robbery, etc. But for crimes like murder, definitely 15 years to life.
The second people gave me this answer; she said the theories of the criminal are the poverty and mental disable. She said for the punishment, just let them stay in jail forever because when they release from jail, no one will hire them and they will come back to their own job which commit crime.
The last people said is good to punished the one who commit crime so that The social impact and rehabilitation varies from the increasing costs of correctional facilities to the disruption of families to the fear of criminals released into community.
For me I believe the criminal should put in jail so that can teach their lesson by doing such thing. A conclusion we can draw with some certainty is that a desire for retribution is at the heart of our notions of justice. I also believe that our current system of locking up criminals only does two things, spends taxpayer’s dollars and creates a training ground for better criminals. I think the criminal is deserved to be punish and put in jail. That the reason to make the community decrease the crime.
