i want to writing letters to my friends, since they are not formal letters, i think "kind regards" is too formal, is "regards" used for letters to close friends?

There are lots of informal sign-offs for letters - it rather depends on how informal you want to be.

Semi-formal:

Close friends/family:

Love

Very informal:
