1. I am not able to understand the logic of the edition.

2. I cannot understand the logic of the edition.

Hello Grammar Teacher/Teachers,

A forum member pointed out ' I am not able to understand ' implies you have some kind of mental deficiency. He or She advised me about accepting either

' I do not understand '  or ' I did not uderstand ' instead.

In Anonymous's subject ' difference between can and able' , a Post #354509,Mister Micawber said that ' can ' and ' be able to ' have the same meaning.Use

' I can't read ' or ' I am not able to read '.

I feel that the more advice, the better. Could you tell me what other options we have ?

Thank you.

With best wishes.

Hello Grammar Teacher,

Could you tell me what other options we have for the underlined words in the sentences  1 and 2 ?

I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the question that was badly or ambiguously worded.

Thank you.

With best wishes.
