No.
She places/puts the grociers into the boot. She carries the groceries into the house. If you carry something somewhere, it's in your hands the whole time.
She takes the groceries from the boot of the car.
Yes
Until now, I had no idea what other meaning a "boot" may have other than a pair of footwear typically covering above our ankles and to boot up my computer . I will feel completely weird to tell my AAA roadside rescue technician to pull the spare tire out from my foot to replace the flat!
