Hi guys,

In the this sentence, "My husband and I will get into cats and dogs."

What's the meaning of " CATS AND DOGS" here?

Thanks in advance!

I would assume it refer to fighting, as in 'they fought like cat and dog'.  But I've never heard it used like this (UK).

In the States, I've heard it only in "it's raining.........".

[An old Red Skelton joke:  "it's raining cats and dogs....yeah, I just stepped in a poodle".]

Well, if Investopedia is to be believed, that sentence might also mean that my husband and I are going to get involved in speculative stocks:

cats and dogs
