i can't understand this. what are the causitive verbs? can someone post some examples here and please explain to me how to use it correctly.

12.  Use the base form of the verb after causative verbs (let/make/have)

Example:
a)Our mother used to make us cleaned our huge basement.(Wrong)
Our mother used to make us clean our huge basement.(Right)
b)Delaney had me prepares a full course dinner for twenty guests today.(Wrong)
Delaney had me prepare a full course dinner for twenty guests today.(Right)

Dear Soulmate678,

In your first example you have used the past participle «cleaned». In your third example you have used the third person singular «prepares». That is why they are incorrect. Smile [:)]

Instead you must use the bare form of the infinitive. Here are some examples. I have underlined the infinitive.

  1. She made me answer the question.
  2. She let me kiss her.
  3. She had me mend her shoes.

Kind regards, Smile [:)]
