A cell phone is called a “cell phone”

What do you call the regular phone you keep at home and has a wire attached to it?  Is it called a cable phone, home phone, a line phone or what?

Thanks

More and more, I hear people say "land line," but I think that "home phone" is still the most common. (Perhaps because more people are using their cell phone as their only phone, making it their home number too.)

As in "My cell is geting lousy reception. Why don't I call you from my land line?"

Barbara, who answers in American English. My housekeeping skills attest to the truth of the second law of thermodynamics: Left to themselves, things get more and more random!

Thanks GG.  You've been of great help.  Or should I say "of much help"?

Additional note:

In the UK, "mobile" is much more common than "cell phone", e.g.

1. Does she have her mobile with her?

To distinguish between your various numbers, you might say e.g.

2. Why don't you call me on my home number?
3. Call me at home tonight.
4. I'll call you from home tonight.

("Landline" would suggest any non-mobile phone; not necessarily your home number.)
