(Perhaps because more people are using their cell phone as their only phone, making it their home number too.) As in "My cell is geting lousy reception. Why don't I call you from my land line?" To distinguish between your various numbers, you might say e.g. 2. Why don't you call me on my home number? 3. Call me at home tonight. 4. I'll call you from home tonight.
