the checking of an important email

First of all i would like to thank anyone who checks the grammar on the email and would apreciate any advise in every aspect including format itself.

As im an student in a spanish talking country I dont have the necessary knowledge to write an impecable letter, so I though of asking you guys some help ^^

This is the email:

Hello, I’m [my name] student at the “Universidad de Costa Rica” (University of Costa Rica), as part of my university studies me and my research group has being assigned with the analysis of ecologic multimedia. Noticing your important contributions on this area I would be glad to have the opportunity to conduct an asynchronous online interview via email about the design, creation and distribution of ecologic multimedia.

Looking forward for your answer. Thank You.

  Below is my try, but probably it's  not  very  good,  so  take
  care!

  Hello [addressee name],

  My name's [your name], and I am a student at the University of
  Costa Rica  (I'd  rather  be  more  specific  and  mention  my
  faculty/carthedra). My research group is fucused (you may  say
  "have been assigned to  study...",  but  that'll  have  a  bit
  boring shade, like you don't want  to  do  it  but  have  been
  forced to) on ecologic multimedia (make sure you  have  chosen
  the right term, I have no idea what ecologic multimedia is!).

  Taking into  account  your  important  contributions  to  this
  field, I would be glad to have the opportunity to conduct with
  you an email interview about the creation and distribution  of
  ecologic multimedia.

  ... And it should be "Looking forward _to_ your reply".

My name’s [my name], and I’m a student of psychology at the 
University of Costa Rica. My research group is focused on ecological videos.

Taking into account your important contributions to this field, 
I would be glad to have the opportunity to conduct with you and 
email interview about the creation and distribution of ecological videos.

Looking forward to your reply.

PS: I couldn't find a good translation for it [the underlined part] so i just typed the literal one, feel free to change it if you want ^^

Hello.

Use "means" not "mean": «... as a means of/for popularization of science»

And GG probably made a little typo in: «I hold your contributions...» — but I am not sure! (She wrote "I hold you your contributions...")
