  1. Smith’s choice sequence of translation methods
  2. Smith’s choosing sequence of translation methods
  3. Smith’s choosing preferences of translation methods
  4. Smith’s choice preferences of translation methods
  5. Smith’s choice of translation methods

corresponds to the decrease of sth.

Which one makes best sense to you?

Many thanks in advance!

5. Smith’s choice of translation methods led to the decrease of sth (say, of the quality  of  understanding)

but you still need to explain us the context ...  what you really wanted to say (it's not clear).

Smith has a whole translation pattern regarding a style of literature.

Smith's preference of the translation method is A first, (if A not applicable) then B, (if B not applicalbe either) then C.

Then let's focus on a definite aspect of the qualities of method A, B and C. On this regard, we have A > B > C.

I want to know which one expresses the above idea:

  1. Smith’s choice sequence of translation methods
  2. Smith’s choosing sequence of translation methods
  3. Smith’s choosing preferences of translation methods
  4. Smith’s choice preferences of translation methods
  5. Smith’s choice of translation methods

corresponds to the decrease of some attribute.

Looking forward to your answers. And many thanks in advance! :)

And if none of them is appropriate, how would you reword it?Smile

Smith’s choice of translation methods influences the quality of his translation work.

influence? Of course! But can we describe the relationship more accurately?

choice: A then B then C

Some attribute of the result, A > B > C

Can't I say his chioce of methods corresponds to the decrease of that attribute? (I guess in English there must be some expression to say this.Geeked)
