<<I guess without context I would choose the first, "He is really depressed", I think I might be more likely to just say that. But since thoughts, perception of facts, and choices vary according to the context, what's the point of such a question? There's no point, unless the lack of important details is meant to force people to make them up in their minds, so that it is then possible to analyze their assumptions to get a better picture of their psyche.>>

Let's all make sure that all questions posted here contain extremely detailed information about context, OK?

"There are two gas stations. At the one on the left, there's a blond lady with huge hooters and a nanoskirt (= 1/1000 of a microskirt), at the one on the right there's a muscular guy with a mustache with only a pair of leopard spotted underpants on. Where are you gonna stop?"

I'm gonna drive right on. I'm married. (A) Angel

Am I married?
What day is it?
Is there anyone in the car with me at that moment?
Have i got a meeting to go to?
Am I on my way to work.
Why would I assume that either of those people at the garages would be interested in me?
Which garage has the cheaper petrol.
Am I gay?
etc.

Oh, please do add detailed context when you post questions, Koyeen. (:D) Big Smile

Yes, indeed.

Determinism is what happens when you're not paying attention.

Really? Surprise Oh, then there's hope for everyone! I feel more optimistic now... LOL, sorry, I could't help it, I felt compelled to say that stupid joke. Big Smile

Anyway, my question makes sense because it has an obvious or expected purpose. Choose between the hottie and that kind of twisted weirdo. Choosing can lead to expected assumptions and an expected discussion. But your question... I can't figure out what its purpose is, what kind of discussion it is supposed to start. That's what I don't understand.

They are both idiomatic ways to report a fact, but without context you can't say much more about them.

If you don't have a sense of humor already, it's about time you buy one.

Ok, now I get it. Jake is depressed because his father died. And his father had a huge bank account with one billion dollars in it, right? But now no one can claim the money, so he needs our help. So, Molly, you are from Ghana, aren't you?

I think you'll have to make that question a little more detailed, Koo:
