When you come to the end of the interview, you close it - finish it - by telling the candidate how long it will be before they will hear if they are suitable, if there is to be a second interview and  how they will be notified of these matters.

Close means finish or end

The sentence does not refer to a job description, but instead seems to refer to the application process. An interview is one of the early parts of the application process. So the sentence seems to be a guideline for the people in a company or institution who interview applicants. The sentence tells the interviewer that they should end an interview by telling the applicant what the next steps in the application process are.
