Hi All,

I have been reading a artical from CNN news,  part of sentence as below

" in a speech in january 202, four months after the attacks on the world trade center and the pentagon, Musharraf gave a speech in which he clearly came down on the side of reform at home and opposition to Islamic fundamentalism."

could anyone tell me what " came down on..." means in this sentence?

thank you
