The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor David Lockington and featuring the NMSO Chorus will give a pair of special performances of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

A comma is not normally needed after NMSO Chorus, right?
But in formal styles, the comma is needed, right?

Thanks

No.  Not right.  There should be a comma there.

Relieved. Because I've taught commas are necessary. I've seen some sentences whose meanig will change if the second comma is omitted.

Thanks, CJ. Smile

This is a detail/parenthesis, you can take it out and still have meaning, thus it should be put between commas to clarify it's a qualifying detail:

, led by conductor David Lockington and featuring the NMSO Chorus,
