comma before because?

In the following sentence, should I use a comma before 'because'? 

In this respect, the witches are analogous to God because all of the tragedies that follow are due to them, and they have the power to relieve the situation at any time

No comma needed.  The reader may pause naturally, but a pause is not necessarily a reason for a comma.
