Commas?

if i have something like:

In North America, new and extended contracts, as well as the reduction of costs and idle space helped to stabilise the results.

do i need the comma before 'as well as'? this is a kind of 'prototype' construction i keep coming across and am never sure about the comma.

Hello robboe,

I don't believe you need a comma before 'as well as'.
You don't have to worry about it any more.
