'Comme ça' is French; it just means 'like this'.

'Comme Ca' is, I believe, a well-known ladies' fashion brand name/shop in London, which is very popular in Japan. Evidently, a Japanese company is plagiarizing the name:

'Japanese people are making "family" the key component to what they buy, the same way as they are looking for easing prices. Five Foxes, one of the fastest-growing apparel companies, has introduced a new clothing store called Comme Ca Ism, where all family members can buy their own clothes. Five Foxes has also opened Mono Comme Ca, a life-style store where family members can choose fancy accessories, stationery and houseware.'

As with much advertising English in Japan, it has no clear meaning. Perhaps Five Foxes' idea was that 'Comme Ca Ism' meant something like 'a resemblance to or following the theory of the London fashion house'.

Thank you very much.
You are right! Comme Ca Ism is a famous brand here in Japan. Could you please tell me how do you pronounce it? Is it like /kome ka: Ism/ or something else?

The French pronounce 'comme ça' something like /kum 'sa:/, but how the Japanese have decided to pronounce 'comme ca ism' I do not know.

I am an American living in Japan.  This store is HUGE here!  It is like a Japanese Gap.  I buy my kids clothes there often.  It is great - I would not be suprised if they start poping up all over the world.

I don't care what it means. I absolutely LOOOOOVE that store. I love it so much, I went back to get more stuff (i.e. little souvenirs) right before I left Japan!!!

yeah, i went on a trip to japan last week and when i was in kyoto, i went to the mall near the hotel and there was a comme ca ism story there.  i bought a long sleeve t shirt only because of the funny nonsensical english paragraph on the front, which reads something like "we designed for your pleasure to make you happy and comfortable."  i wanted a nonsensically english-branded article of clothing as a souvenir before i left japan.   but yeah, i found the store to be comparable to express in the u.s. maybe just because of the slightly high prices.

I just love this brand! My husband bought a tshirt for him, for me and for our son when he was in Japan. He bought me bags and tops and they are all my favorite!
Where is it located aside from Japan?
