I would comment on the lexical choice of cannibalising, which is a very shocking, media expression, if related to profits. The subject is also abnormally long, suggesting a speech as context. An option would be to say their instead of your own profits, making it match everyone as a plural, which looks more context-aware.

"ING Direct now deliberately targets less rate-sensitive customers"

Target as a verb is a classic marketing choice, impressive as well. The emphatic position of now is also telling you that this is corporate propaganda.

Hope this helps, just think hard on different ways to say it and comment on them yourself, just give your opinion, you will easily get a dozen lines

Cheers :)

1.  If a bank pays high interest to it's depositors as a way of attracting their business, the bank looses whatever it gains.  It wants more business to gain more profit, but it's giving away all that profit by paying higher interest.

2.  This company has a different solution:  try to find the customers who don't care about high interest, and then you won't have to pay it.

It's a difference in advertising approach.  #1 advertises higher rates.  #2 conducts marketing research to discover what kinds of customers don't care about higher rates.  It then directs its advertising toward these people.

Take It Easy -

Welcome to the forums.

You posted your question three times. That is two more times than necessary.

I merged these threads because you got a reply to each. I deleted the third one.

In the future, please post a question once, and only once.

Thank you.

Don't worry - if your post is in the wrong place, someone will move it to the right place.

You can find it by looking at the list of "My dicsussion" even if it has been moved.
