i'm starting my comparative essay and I am supposed to compare two novels that i read, old and modern, and explain how they are typical of the romance genre. i just wanted to know what point of view are romance novels usually written in?

Have a look at this website, which explains many differences between romance genres. I hope there's something here which will help you to identify your specific genre.
