Hello,

I am working with the sentence is 'He's lived here for five years'

And my concept questions so far are:

- When did he move here? 5 years ago

- Does he live here now? Yes

- How long has he lived here for? 5 years

Could you please tell me if they are useful? and could you think of others I could use?

Thank you.

You don't need the "for" in your 3rd example: "How long has he lived here?".

Your questions are quite right. Yet, I'd use the -ing form with those verbs expressing an action that takes a long time to develop: "How long has he been living here?" "He's been living here for 5 years".

I'm glad to help, but I'm not a native! And please excuse my typos...

Hi Pieanne,

Thank you for your email, however my target language is present perfect so I have to stick with it in the concept questions as well.

Sorry! So forget about my remarks about the -ing form. But drop the "for" in that question.
