Hi group,

Which one of these conditionals should I use, if I'm explaning about a job that he/she has just applied?

Option 1

If you are hired, you'll be stationed in KL, you'll have one or two staffs reporting to you, and you'll be required to carry out some business development activities as well.

Option 2

If you were hired, you'd be stationed in KL, you'd have one or two staffs reporting to you, and you'd be required to carry out some business development activities as well.

Thank you.

Regards,

Jeeva

Are you interviewing a person who has applied for the job?  Both options are O.K.  But 'Staff', when it means 'people who are employed in a business' does not have an 's' on the end.

My first interpretation of "If you were hired" is that the chance is now past and it didn't happened. Although it's not incorrect, it required me to re-read, which you don't want. You can fix that with "If you were to be hired,..."

Of course, that's just my opinion. (And the "staffs" as the poster above has pointed out.)
