There was an officer killed in the line of duty in hawaii. We, at PENET (policeexplorers.net) are wanting to send a condolence letter to the department, as well as the police explorer post within.

We have no information about him. Allthough, we can get information from this artical.

Is there anything that I can do?

Hi Guest,

Just thinking out loud....

1) Call Hawaii's police department and mention you want to send his unit and family a condolence letter. You might have to send the letter to family to the Police Dept. I expect privacy is a key concern.

2) Ask if they have prepared a summary of his life, accomplishments, loves and passions. Would they share it with you?

3) Perhaps you have on your site a section where you commemorate those who lost their lives while in active duty? Have a picture, brief article, and a few links to the fallen officer's favorite charities?

I'd call the Hawaii police dept though explain your intent. Ask how you can help. They might provide some great ideas as well.

Also, check this post again as others may contribute ideas too.

Hope this helps.
