Hello.
Doesn't the second sentence in this passage need "about" before the word "whether"?

I just got back yesterday, or maybe it was the day before. I'm a little confused by the 13-hour time change and whether it is today or yesterday or tomorrow.

You say "I'm confused about whether ...." but not "I'm confused whether...", don't you?

Thanks.

The "about" is implied. You don't need to say it, though either is correct.

So, am I right in thinking that grammatically "about" is necessary between "confused" and "whether" but colloquially it can be dropped as implied?
