hi,

what does this phrase 'give face its shape' mean? the sentence i came across says we need our teeth to bite, chew, and also 'give face its shape' ? Or is it a structural problem? i was my friend who studied tesl that it was acceptable. is it so?

thanks

If you lose your teeth, your jaw starts to recede around the mouth because the lack of stress from chewing causes bone loss. Maybe that is what this refers to? I would think the wording would be more like "...gives your face its shape."
