Hi!

I am confused with the meaning of the word "consortium". As per wordweb it's an association of companies for some definite purpose. but wikipedia describes it as: "an association of two or more individuals, companies, organizations or government. " So, is it only association of companies or we can use it for individuals too? It's very common to say " consortium of companies" but what about " consortium of people" and also is this construction OK: "she wants to gather a consortium"?

tks in advance

My dictionary says 'an association, especially several large companies'.

You can find examples via Google where it refers to a group of individuals.

Best wishes, Clive
