Hi, guys !

From a native speaker's point of view, which sentence is correct (or, if none of them is right, can you give me your own)

1. There should be the possibility to change the user's name. And it's you who needs to provide for such possibility

2. There should be the possibility to change the user's name. And it's you who needs to provide for such a possibility

Thanks a million !

Hi rfkhan

Yes, your version is fine. It combined the two sentences, and changed the word "possibility" to "possibilities".

It is not wrong to begin a sentence with the word "and", but it should not be done too often.

I am also a learner but let me give a try to correct your sentence.

1) There should be the possibility to change the user's name and it's you who needs to provide for such possibilities.

Hi Alex

Looking at just your sentences, I would consider number 2 to be correct, and number 1 to be incorrect.
As has already been mentioned, you could also say "such possibilities".

There are other ways your sentences might be reworded, but I think it would depend a bit on the broader context. However, I will mention that the word "username" has now arrived in dictionaries.  Click here, for example:  AHD: username
