CADASIL Together We Have Hope Non-Profit Organization (CTWHH) is a non-profit 501c3 organization designed to provide support to those touched by CADASIL a genetic disorder that has no known cure or treatment and an unpredictable prognosis. Our organization is the first active organization in the USA for this disease. CADASIL stands for Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Sub-cortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy.
People who have CADASIL have ischemic episodes, cognitive defects, and migraines with or without aura, myocardial infarctions or psychiatric disturbances. It is associated with various neurological problems, including an increased risk of strokes and premature death. Since it is an inherited genetic disorder CADASIL patients worry about there offspring as they have 50% change of having the disease. Our website already had the medical and scientific community starting to look at their patients in a different light. People throughout the world started to request more information and contact us. Last year we had 269,535 visitors to the website at www.cadsailfoundation.org
Most people with CADASIL never meet another person affected by this disorder. We have reached over 500 families affected by this disorder throughout the globe. We have families representing almost every state and every country through out the world and each time a new family comes to us, the first thing that they say is, “Finally, I am not alone!”
CADASIL Together We Have Hope will hold it first scientific/educational conference at the ____ hotel October 5, 2006 in Austin, Texas. We are expecting a large gathering of family members, concerned health care providers, professionals associated with CADASIL around the world, the CTWHH conference will provide a wonderful opportunity to not only advertise your company to this large audience of consumer, it will also enable you to show your support to families affected by this genetic disorder.
We are working closely with Dr. Gregory P Professor from New York School of Medicine and Dr. James G , Director of Stroke with the University of Texas Health Sciences and doctor of the year with the American Heart Association and Dr. Stephen S from Rhode Island Butler Memory Clinic in identifying programmatic needs and who are currently on our scientific advisory committee.
