Hi,
iam new to this forum and i hope i will get some help by the users.
i had to write a text about Konami (game development studio) and i guess it has some mistakes and perhaps you can write things better.
thank you in advance!
Website review:
When you
talk about Konami and its website, you must also talk about the different
products and services, which Konami provides. It is not all about developing
games. Konami also provides digital entertainment (Video/DVD, Music, Books,
Video Games etc.), health and fitness (Konami Sports Club, Fitness Machines,
Fitness Wear etc.) and gaming systems (Casino Management Systems). Every branch
has its own website, which again is divided in several regions (Europe, Asia, North America, etc.).
In the
following I talk about the European version of the gaming-related website for
the UK.
http://uk.games.konami-europe.com/
The website
has a silver, noble look and has a format like a paper sheet. Its top menus
have a silver-grey gradient, which makes the site very modern. The background
image of the UK Konami site shows heroes from different Konami games.
We have got
two menus on the English Konami website. The top menu contains contact
information and more information about Konami as a company. You can also get a
login to the press area here, where you can find annual stock reports, stock
prices, advertising etc. Offered jobs are accessed by this menu too. Unfortunately
they do not have any open vacancies at the moment.
The second
menu is more game-related. On the one hand you can minimize this menu to watch
trailers in full window and on the other hand you can maximize it to get all
the menu items. This is a very nice idea and it serves the usability.
In this
menu you are able to find community stuff, news, a shop and more information
about recently released games and games which will be released in the future.
You also have the option to download trailers, patches (extensions for your
game) or other specials. It is also possible to face a competition and win
prizes.
Advertising:
New games
are advertised by newsletters, gaming fairs and banner advertisements on other
websites. For example when you surf to gamespot.com (a big English gaming
website) you can find an animated banner on the left side of this website,
which tells you that PES 6 (Pro Evolution Soccer 6 / soccer game) from Konami
has been recently released. When you now click on this banner you are referred
to the Konami website and have the chance to download a playable demo of PES 6
or get more information about the key-features of this game.
Newsletters
are another good way to update your customers. Newsletters are sent by email
and can contain various screenshots of games, news, advertising and other
information about Konami and its games.
In Japan there are
also commercials, which promote Konami products on the television and on the
radio.
Finally
there are also gaming fairs where new products are promoted and introduced.
