I have applied for PhD position in abroad. As the Professor Thomas Wandlowski asked me to answer the following questions, I have entered my reply below. I would be happier if anyone corrects my reply letter.

Thanks in advance.

This is the Professor Thomas Wandlowski Question to me:

"Concerning your application I would kindly ask you if you could send me a statement why you like to join us, what are your specific goals, what is your interest in Interfacial/Nanoelectrochemistry, what do you expect to accomplish, to gain as a potential PhD student with us."

My reply letter is

Dear Prof. Dr. Thomas Wandlowski

Thank you for being nice to me. It is my pleasure to answer your questions.

I am sure that my participation in your Ph.D. program will give me thorough education and excellent research experience, which will advance me to my dream. I am convinced that my curiosity and knowledge will enable me to succeed in the research field. Eventually, I deeply believe that the excellence of your program, along with my capabilities and motivation, will help me to attain my destination.

During school, I was fascinated with Science. I am seriously interested in Chemistry since my high school tenure. My interest in the Electrochemistry gained fresh impetus during my undergraduate studies at S.F.R. College. Right since the beginning of my undergraduate study Electrochemistry is a subject that has fascinated me with its power of applications. In college, I always enjoyed long hours in the labs. It gave me the opportunity to correlate theory to practical phenomena. I especially enjoyed its experimental part when I was making something with my own hands and could see the result of my work.

It has given me the confidence to pursue a master’s degree and also kindled a desire to do research. Besides the core Chemistry I also studied Physics as an ancillary subjects and I learnt about electronics, circuits, diodes and practical session for these. This combined knowledge induces me to know more about electrochemistry.

The grand challenge in electrochemistry is to link electronic properties, surface structure, chemistry and topography, interfacial properties and exposure conditions to predict the electrochemical properties of materials. Nanotechnology is booming techniques in the contemporary research field. Moreover characterization of nanoscale chemical and physical properties of materials on atomic and molecular length scales has wide range of applications. To achieve this, I would like to gain exposure to the latest practices adopted in nanoelctrochemistry. The theory inspired me for further deep study of this subject and the modern concepts of Electrochemistry.

Electrochemical nanoscience has wide range of applications in thermodynamic, kinetic and structural studies of chemical reactions. Because electrochemistry allows for the selective introduction and removal of electrons from organic molecules, it is an ideal tool for reversing the polarity of known functional groups and triggering many reactions.

I intend to do my research work in Electrochemistry. The main goal of my future education is to gain valuable research experience and deepen my knowledge of Electrochemistry.

Dear Dr. Wandlowski,

Thank you for kindly considering my application. I take pleasure in answering your questions.

I am sure that my participation in your PhD program will give me a thorough grounding in the field and excellent research experience which will help me to achieve my dream of entering the research field. I also believe that my curiosity and knowledge will help me to succeed. I deeply believe that the excellence of your program, along with my own capabilities and motivation, will help me to attain my goal.

Throughout my school years I have been fascinated with science. I have been extremely interested in chemistry since high school. My interest in electrochemistry gained fresh impetus during my undergraduate studies at S.F.R. College. Right from the beginning of my undergraduate study, electrochemistry has been a subject that has fascinated me with its power for application. In college, I always enjoyed long hours in the labs. This has given me the confidence to pursue my Master’s Degree and also has kindled a fervent desire to do research. Besides chemistry, I also studied physics as an ancillary subject. I learned about electronics, circuits, diodes, and did practical work on these topics. My experience in learning these subjects has awakened an intense interest in electrochemistry.

This theory has inspired me to study this subject much more deeply within the context of modern electrochemistry.

[EDITOR’S NOTE: I was totally guessing what you meant in certain sentences, especially since I don’t really understand all the science. Good luck and hope it’s not too late. Next time you should hire someone to do this for you.]
