Hi

Here is an essay I've written yesterday - I'm practising my writing for CAE. I'd appreciate it if you could go though it and give me some comments.

This is my first post to this site. Hope I get lucky Smile [:)]Smile [:)]

best regards

Internet in Education

Since its advent in 2000, the Internet has brought a sea change to the education in Myanmar.

Naturally, the majority of those who benefit from the access to the web are the students from all over the country. For the first time, all students now can look at the recommended texts, syllabuses and even their assignments 24/7, should they be in the classroom, in their bed room or on the move, all thanks to the information superhighway.

Doing homework is no longer a tedious solitary chore – nowadays even students as young as second and third graders can exchange ideas and discuss opinions with the fellow students not only from their school but from any students from the four corners of the earth. Writing dissertations and assignments have never been easier with availability the enormous amount of reference materials accessible through the Internet. Lectures in audio and video formats that have been posted on the net by prominent academics can be downloaded and viewed by students from any part of the countries at the time and place of their choice on their PC, notebook computer, PDA or mobiles.

Not only the students, but teachers are also reaping benefits of the Internet with the ever growing number of forums and communities, for teachers of all subjects and levels, set up to help each other from lesson planning to dealing with school bullies. Through the communities on the web, Myanmar teachers have been widening their horizon and keeping up with the development in teaching methods and technologies by communicating with the teacher from other countries.

All in all, the Internet has been a god-send for the Myanmar education community bringing numerous benefits for everyone.

Hi TwoClever/½,

Just my two cents...

the Internet has brought a sea change to the education in Myanmar.

discuss opinions with their fellow students not only

Writing dissertations and assignments have never been easier with availability the enormous amount of reference materials accessible through the Internet. Lectures in audio and video formats that have been posted on the net by prominent academics can be downloaded and viewed by students from any part of the countries at the time and place of their choice (repetitive) on their PC, notebook computer, PDA or mobiles.

Not only the students, but (no need to have it here) teachers are also reaping benefits of the Internet with the ever growing number of forums and communities, for teachers of all subjects and levels, set up (set up what) to help each other from lesson planning to dealing with school bullies.

All in all, the Internet has been a god-send for the Myanmar education community, bringing numerous benefits for everyone.
