My name is ***, I am currently a student at an upper vocational school, specialisation in economics. I will finish this school in July this year and will then have the Abitur (Maturità) which enables me to study at every university.
Before visiting the upper vocational school I made an apprenticeship as a business clerk in a big company named *** which produces *** and ***. During this apprenticeship I had passed nearly every department of the company – running from the buying department to the accounting department to the sales department. The last one, the sales department, was the department which suited me best and that is why I decided to stay the last half year of my apprenticeship in this department. During this time my area of responsibility was the planning of the primary demand and also the sale of our products to employees.
The apprenticeship provided many insights into the organization of the company and into business processes. It was a very important exerience and I was sure that I would like to work in a huge company in my future, but for me working as a business clerk was not enough. I wanted to take up a new challenge. And I began to make research studies about possibilities to study international economics.
I informed me about studying in Italy because I really like the Italian mentality and the careless way of life of many Italians. Additionally it makes me happy to hear the sound of the Italian language. Perhaps you should know that learning languages is my hobby and especially the Italian and the Chinese language has spaked my interest. Studying abroad will also strengthen my personality and widen my horizon. While this research studies I recognized that in Italian universitites the degree “laureato” is quite common. Then I saw that your universitiy offers the undergraduate program “Economics” which leads to a bachelor degree. And I really attach importance to the fact that my future degree will be internationally recognized. From then on I just concentrated on this program at your univeristy. I was enthusiastic about the structure of the program and the fact that 65% of the places of this program are reserved for international students and that is in fact the most important reason for beeing interested in this program. For me internationality is a criterion which I wish for my near future. And how can I better combine internationality with quality of education and of course improving language skills than to take part in a programm, entirely taught in Englisch, in ***, together with many different people of many different nations? I think this program exactly agrees about everything with my interests. But what was the crucial factor for me to apply at Università *** was the Open Day I visited in July 2006. I was immediately overwhelmed of the affability of the professors and especially of the guided tour with a Chinese student. I was even amused about the fact that he of all people made the guidance because I would like to learn Chinese – a professor told me that at your university a Chinese language course will be offered. All these cosiderable benefits your university offers mady me to spare no effort to get a place at Università ***.
