Hi,
Could you explain the sentence to me, please?
The case against her was circumstantial.
I have looked up the word cicumstantial in the dictionary. It says it means containing information, especially about a crime, which makes you think something is true but does not definitely prove it, but I still don't understand what it means. Thank you.
They found the murdered man in his office at 11am. My name was in his appointment book for 10:45am. They found his wallet in my apartment. But, nobody saw me go into or come out of his office. I argue that I was never in his office, and that someone else hid his wallet in my apartment. The case against me is circumstantial. There is no clear proof of my guilt.
Best wishes, Clive
