hi everyone ,This is the first time for me and i need your help .I'm going to apply for a thesis in some research institutes. It would be nice if someone can correct my letter.Thank you in advance

 Dear Mr.***

After finishing study from high school , I joined School of engineering, ***University. Due to my in interests in power generation and distribution, I chose electric power engineering as my major study when i was a junior student .A Part of my studies in the fourth year was the final year project. Comprehensively,in this project, I studied the protection system of the transmission lines in the case that the small power producers are connected to the grid of the electric utility. This study provided me the valuable knowledge of how the load flow calculation and system protection requirement would be changed if the electricity from  many small power producers is fed to the grid network and how the protection system should be designed properly in order to stabilize and maintain the rest of the system not affected by fault condition. In addition ,I also examined many different kinds of power generation especially Renewable Energy becoming more and more important in the near future.chemas-microsoft-comSurprise [:O]fficeSurprise [:O]ffice" />> >

After graduation from university in Autumn.2003,I started working as a project engineer at *** company .I was responsible for the procurement of the equipment and supplies such as Gas insulated switchgear(GIS),circuit breaker, cables etc. Also,my duties were to deal with the technical problems issued by the customers during the project and to collect all technical data and requirements  necessary for bidding the new substation construction project.

Had been working in the international company, I gained various experiences not only solid technical skills, but also management skills.I learned how to organize and manage  the project within the time constraint.By dealing with different customers, I learned how dificult it is in order to fulfill their needs. This job also gave me the oppotunity to expose to team – work  basesd problem solving which is ,in my opinion, important for the company to be in the forefront of its business.

To broaden my knowledge into power generation subject , I participated in Msc energy systems at Aachen university of applied sciences. Here I learn both conventional and alternative power generation technologies. My special interests are “Grid-connected Hybrid System” and “Distributed Generation ”.I  have searched the research institute working on these topics.I then found it in your research group.

With well-equiped test facilities and your research experience , I strongly believe that I could acquire sufficient knowledge to complete my assignment and thesis and to conduct ongoing research afterwards.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you

Dear Mr.*** :

After finishing high school , I enrolled in the School of Engineering at ***University.  Because of my interest in power generation and distribution, I chose electric power engineering as my major study when I was a junior.  In my fourth year final project, I studied the protection system of transmission lines when small power producers are connected to the electric utility grid. This study provided me with valuable knowledge of how load flow calculation and system protection requirements would change if the electricity from  many small power producers were fed to the grid network, and how the protection system should be designed to stabilize and maintain the rest of the system unaffected by the fault.  I also examined many different kinds of power generation, especially renewable energy, which is becoming more and more important for the future.

After graduation from university in autumn 2003, I started working as a project engineer at ***  Company.  I was responsible for the procurement of equipment and supplies such as gtas-insulated switchgears (GIS), circuit breakers, cables, etc. Also, my duties were to deal with the technical problems of customers during the project, and to collect all technical data and requirements  necessary for bidding on a new substation construction project.

Working in an international company, I gained various experiences, both solid technical skills and management skills.  I learned how to organize and manage a project within time constraints.  By dealing with different customers, I learned how difficult it is to fulfill their needs. This job also gave me the opportunity to be exposed to teamwork-based problem-solving, which is important for all business.

To broaden my knowledge of power generation, I participated in a MSc energy systems [program? course? seminar? conference?] at Aachen University of Applied Sciences.  Here I learnt about both conventional and alternative power generation technologies.  My special interests are grid-connected hybrid systems and distributed generation, which I have discovered that your research group is working on.  With an opportunity to work in your well-equiped test facilities and with learn from your research experience, I would be able to acquire sufficient knowledge to complete my assignment and thesis, and to conduct ongoing research afterwards.

Thank you very much for your consideration of my application.

Sincerely yours,
