Hi Sony,
Welcome to the Forum.
I've made some suggestions, so please read carefully.
God luck with this, Clive
My name is *** and I am studying Linguistics in my 4th semester at the University of ***, Germany. My majors are English and French. Since my 5th semester is supposed to be either a practical training or a study-abroad semester, I have chosen to apply for one semester at *** University ***, Australia.
I have always been interested in foreign languages and consequently started learning English, French and Italian at school. As I am planning to work abroad after my graduation and, as a linguist, would like to be able to speak many languages fluently, I hope to improve my English skills while studying in Australia. I also think that one semester abroad will help me learn how to adapt to a foreign culture, mentality and way of life, which in my opinion are very important for broadening one's horizon.
I would like to study at *** University because I have been to Australia before and know that *** is a beautiful city where the people are open and friendly. I also know that *** is a very international University, so I would have the opportunity to meet many students from different backgrounds and cultures. The courses offered at *** University sound very interesting to me and correspond perfectly with my previous courses at the University of ***. I am also interested in Aboriginal Studies and your university would give me the copportunity to gain an insight into this subject, too. Attending the courses for which I am applying will permit me to widen my studies and to obtain a different perspective on my subject.
Yours sincerely,
