I've heard "Do you accept credit cards?" many times and I've never heard "Do you accept debit cards?" Is it Ok to ask "Do you accept credit cards?" if I've got a debit card not a credit one? Or you always say "credit cards" no matter what kind of card you have?

Thanks for any help in advance.

You can say "Can I use my debit card here?"

(If your debit card has the Mastercard or Visa symbol on it, it's accepted as a credit card, so you can use the more familiar "Do you take/accept credit cards?")
