Hi guys,
When a person says, "if you have the receipt and the credit card you bought this with, I can credit your card for you.", what does "credit your card" mean?
(It's in the situtation of returing some item.)
And what is "store credit"?
Is it a real paper with the amount of money or something other than that?
It's different from "store credit card", isn't it?
I'd like to know specific form of "store crdeit."
(The context will be as follows.)
Thanks for taking your time.

<referrence for "store credit">
A: Can I get a gift receipt with this? It's a birthday present for my son. I'm not sure if he'll like this or not.
B: Yes, ma'am. But he can only make an exchange with a gift receipt, or get store credit.
