She cuddled up next to me.
She cuddled up to me.
What's the difference? Is the second closer in distance?
Thanks.

Who wants to go sailing around the world with me?

I see another video opportunity, but I might struggle to find a willing extra to do the cuddling!

I can't see much difference, except that I feel cuddled up to me means more of her made contact with me than in the first.

If you have a pet, that will help :)

Without 'next', it might be a more figurative use of the expression (mental cuddling); with 'next', it's definitely physical.
