Hi everybody! I’m a greenhorn here. this is actually my first thread. I'm trying to make a good translation of a recipe. Could you read a few sentences and say if they make sense to your as native speakers. I'm pretty disappointed at the following translation (esp. with juice part): Cutlets are ready when they become golden brown. Juice should be bright when pressed The point is that ready cutlets, when pressed, should give a clean (bright?) melted fat. I though you could just show me the right way of saying this. Thanks in advance

Hello - welcome to the forum.

When we are talking about telling when meat is ready (well, certainly with chicken) we say that the 'juices should run clear' - i.e. no colour, no trace of blood etc.

Thanks a lot. So can I articulate the idea as followed: Cutlets are ready when they become golden brown. When pressed, their juice should run clean

Please note: clear, not clean
