DEATH STANDS ABOVE ME by Walter Savage Landor
death stands above me and whispering low
i know not what into my ear:
of his strange language all i know
is,there is not a word of fear
it is a strange poem
it is my assignment,i found its assonance , alliteration,and the rhyme scheme but i couldnt understand it and what is it about and what is its paradox
so,do you know????

This person is dying. He/She is writing about the personification of Death, presumably at a bedside, talking/calling to them. He/she does not understand death, but finds that there is nothing to fear from it.
The personification of Death is a metaphor for their feelings about death.

Hello Maryan
The paradox lies in the fact that the speaker is unable to understand Death's language, yet seems to know that it contains 'not a word of fear'.
By the way, the first line should read:
'Death stands above me, whispering low'
