Does democracy represent people's interest, or lead to a wealthy or powerful state?  I don't think so. Democracy system is bulit on wealth. If you don't have it, you can't afford to democracy. For somebody, democracy just means free speech, or voting right. They don't understand democracy is not a means or object but a spirit. Without legal system, it is fragile and hypocritical. Evilness even can born in democratic soil. So law and order come first, before democracy or so-called freedom.

May be yes may be no . It's depended more on people , than on political sistem . All political system can working for good , all system can working for evil . We cannot find universal decision - what political system is best for all land and all times.
P.S    Legal system is not enough .  Without fairness and common agreement law is instrument of tiranny

Anarchy - order’s mother

There is no real democracy in this wicked world. There are only rich people and poor people. My only wish is to get up the ladder, democracy is such a feeble and elusive thing.

Hey, slow down. The world is not wicked, but many of the rulers are! The vast majority of people are very good indeed!

lol... hey what is a "ruler" anyway? My first taste of one was when a "teacher" used it to whack me on the backside!

I reckon democracy is one of the best things that a human can experience in his or her lifetime.

Spot on, Szandy. This is exactly what undemocratic governments regurgitate to its people - 'law and order come first, before democracy or so-called freedom'. But is it not only obvious that, to them, 'law and order' never comes? So they are always around to 'enforce' it.

Success - it is not the position where you are standing, but which direction you are going.

I think it is one of the worse things that human can expect. Because democracy in pratice is usually associated with capitalism and imperialism. So it is just like a wolf with a sheep coat.

Hi Osee

I can't believe what I'm hearing. Is there an economic system that is better than capitalism? And where am I seeing this imperialism?

I would also like to know why you are living in Canada, if democracy is 'one of the worse things that human can expect'? Aren't you just a hypocrite?

Sorry but it's revolting the way you debase something that a lot of people around the world are still struggling for.

Here are the different types of governments, by definition:

1. Democracy: Government by popular representation; a form of government in which the supreme power is retained by the people, but is indirectly exercised through a system of representation and delegated authority periodically renewed; a constitutional representative government; a republic.

2. Theocracy: Government of a state by the immediate direction or administration of God; hence, the exercise of political authority by priests as representing the Deity.

3. Oligarchy:  a form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few.

4. Monarchy: A system of government in which one person reigns, usually a king or queen. The authority, or crown, in a monarchy is inherited.

5. Anarchy: a state of society that has no government or law.

6. Dictatorship: a country, government, or the form of government in which absolute power is exercised by a dictator.

I suppose the question is:

If you had a choice to live under one of these different types of government, assuming you are not a privileged member of the governing class (king, queen, theologian, dictator, or oligarch), which would you prefer?

Finally I find an example of totally brainwashed person who does rude judgements and askes silly and rude questions.

Let me in turn ask you a question according to your logic: If you think communist is worse than democracy. Then why so many Americans or Britishes or Canadians are living in China?

Do you think the only reason for people living outside of their own countries is that they do not like their own countries or has anything to do with democracy or communist?

Aren't you both a hypocrite and a brainwashed asking silly and rude questions?

Sorry but it is really offensive and revolting of your way debating like this.
