Ken. Call me Ken. I didn't win the university's Most Popular Professor contest three times by making my students call me "Professor." Here you go, son. (Ken slaps a "Vote for Ken" sticker on Nathan.)

My question is "did Ken win the contest or not?" If yes, why does the above statement say "I didn't ...?" Thanks.

Yes, he won.  But the reason he won was not because he was formal with the students.
