I was going to die from happiness when I saw the beautiful view from our hotel room.

 

Hi,

Which of the above sounds better? If neither, how would you rword them? Thanks.

 I wouldn't use either.

I thought I would die of happiness when I saw the beautiful view from our hotel room/when I saw how beautiful the view was from our hotel room
