what's the difference between 'adjust with' and 'adjust to'
Adjust with — put in line (flush) with.
Adjust to — set — "Adjust the sound volume to a comfortable level".
Another way of looking at it:
1. I adjusted the tap with a spanner.
— "with" presents the means of adjusting the tap.
2. I adjusted the volume to a more comfortable level.
— "to" presents the result of adjusting the volume.
