'office' in that context.

An 'office', generally speaking, is a room or rooms where business is conducted.

English is my first language. I've been speaking it for nearly 40 years. I'm currently learning Japanese and need all the help I can get!

And room, aside from its generic meaning, can often refer to one's private [bed]room, a hospital/hotel room or a classroom in a school.
