Hello,

1. We sell something by the day.

2. We sell something during the day.

What is the difference between two sentences?

Thanks.

The first is wierd-- it seems to suggest that day is a unit of measure for the product, like by the pound/gram.

The second is the expected.

A third possibility is We sell something by day-- which seems to imply that you do something more nefarious by night (but then, so does #2, I suppose).
