Is the second response by B correct?

A: What is worrying you, Joe?

1.B: I am worrying about her financial situation.

2.B: I am worried about her financial siutation.

Yes; in fact, of the two it is the more natural response.

I would say "B" is more correct because the meaning you are striving for is that you are AND REMAIN worried, presumably for some time to come.

"I am worrying" conveys that you are worrying, right now, as a temporary behavior and not as being in a "state" of being worried. Just like other "I am"-"ing" constructions like "I am driving" or "I am working."

However we know that being worried about something as serious and long-term as a "financial situation" is not something that will tend to vanish and go away in an instant, unless of course she wins the lottery. So "I am worried" is the better choice.
