Dear Anon
If someone said to me, "MrP, you're looking fatter than ever!", I would be quite surprised, but I don't suppose I'd mind that much.
(I am male. Well, I was 20 minutes ago, anyway. I doubt whether much has changed since then.)

Why?
Would it be a problem if I looked fatter than ever? Doesn’t matter as long as I feel
well.

For me, I wouldn't mind if anyone say that to me. I wouldn't be
embarrased at all. But if we say it to a female, maybe most of them
will get mad ^^

No, I'd jump for joy :o) See, I think I am really thin and no matter how much I eat I don't gain weight. So if someone said that to me, it would be good news :o) But I guess if you say that to a woman who thinks of herself as fat and unhappy about it, then I guess she'll be offended. I'm female.

It's not the great things you do that matter, but small things you do with great heart. (",)

If a native speaker said that to me, I would think they were rude. If a non-native speaker said it, I would think that he/she was ignornant of proper social etiquette. Depending on the situation, both individuals may get a equally rude comment back.
I would be offended by this comment because I'm a health nut and very athletic (not because I'm fat and unhappy).

I'd have no problem if anyone said that to me. In fact, I would probably be happy since I need to put on some weight. (My chocolate and beer diet doesn't seem to be working)
