Hi everyone,

May someone define me what does get the bug/ be bitten by the bug mean? Is that bug, the bug we know, I mean, the insect?

Thanks in advance.Smile [:)]

I usually use caught instead of get.

As in;
to receive, incur, or contract: to catch a cold.

As in;
to receive, incur, or contract: to catch a dreaded lurgy. (Kiwi saying for head cold or flu)

To get the bug for something or be bitten by the bug for something is an idiomatic way of saying you have become passionately interested in that something.

"I have been bitten by the bug for playing internet games"

!I have got the bug for running marathons whenever I can!
