What does 'nothing seems right' imply?

What is the real meaning of the saying "Nothing seems right"

Sometimes I feel that means "give up", and sometimes I feel that means "from the beginning".

Will the person be happy when he says "Nothing seems right" to himself?
What will he do if he said this phrase? Give up the things or do them from scratch?

Worst case scenario: it could be a desperate plea from a person suffering some depression.

Better case scenario:

I have been trying to write this passage over and over, and no matter how I try, nothing seems right to me. I'll put it aside and try it again tomorrow after a good night's sleep.

It's not working well together, it's not coming together, it doesn't seem to work like I want it to.

Better case scenario:

I've been trying to find a dress to wear to the black-tie holiday party, and have tried on at least 30 dresses, but nothing seems right to me.
